As promised at the back end of 2022, one of my 2023 resolutions is be to provide an update every month.
2022 wrap
My sense from talking to our team, customers and suppliers was that 2022 was one of the hardest years since Covid. Not because of any one thing but due to a combination of factors and a buildup of the previous three years of lockdowns, supply chains, people shortages and accelerating change. It is my firm view that 2023 will require some different thinking to avoid a repeat and this will be easier said than done.
Problems are not going away
Costs continue to rise, supply chains are still unstable, economists tell us demand may be patchy, people are hard to find. On top of this the world continues to change at an accelerating pace – customer preferences, digital technology, climate change…
Trend – Attitude + Innovation is key
I liken the current environment to running a race with a headwind and a strong likelihood that anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
We might not be able to control much but we can control our attitude. This mindset choice combined with innovation is what will set people and companies apart this year. Innovation in:
- solving customer problems
- anticipating market changes
- motivating and empowering teams
- attracting new people
- developing and launching new products and markets.
For us, this will mean a relentless focus on relationships. My invite to connect always stands!
Story of the month
We’ve worked with several customers in different sectors to develop and launch the new Spray Suppressant Round product for use on all our guard materials. A huge thanks to Liquid Gas Services and Patchell.
Light Trailer catalogue launch to support Ecommerce
The end of 2022 saw use combine good old fashioned print design with ecommerce. The Rhino light trailer catalogue walks you through the key decisions when selecting guards and compliments our light trailer section of the website that allows you to purchase light trailer guards online.
Wishing you all the best for 2023 – please reach out if you’d like to catchup over coffee (my shout). PS – we are hiring!
Regards
Will – GM @ Rhino.
