SUMMARY & OUTLOOK
To use a sporting analogy, this year is shaping up as a “game of two halves”. The constant constraints are still prevalent every now and then another switch is flicked and they don’t exist.
2023 is the first year out of the last four that has not been interrupted by “Covid” in some way; be it lockdowns, supply chain or the flow on effects of people or other businesses. As we emerge into the “new normal” the two halves of the game are evident. On one hand there’s the constraints of truck supply, trailer components supply, people and financial. On the other hand, these are gradually resolving themselves and you wonder what is possible and what the outlook is like for the next few years.
BUSINESS CULTURE AND WORKING AT RHINO
Recently our business undertook some team culture work. Doing this is as a leader is an exercise in high-trust and makes you feel vulnerable because you’re asking for honest feedback from a diverse range of people and that feedback gets translated into some numbers that can’t be explained like financial numbers can.
The results? Our average team engagement score was 83% with a range from 69% to 91%. Publishing these a part accountability but mostly a sense of gratitude for the culture that our team at Rhino is creating and developing. Culture is the number one thing we focus on and it is a centre of everything we do – it’s the unseen nature of business. The glue that binds. Built over years and destroyed in minutes. It is hard work, it never stops and we don’t always get it right.

NEW PRODUCTS
On a more lighter note, we recently released a new saddle colour – 209 Light Green. It’s always a risk launching new products so we appreciate the support from customers. Orange is next on the list if we can get enough interest…
We’ve set up a New Product Plan and Request page on our website here. We are “Open Sourcing” our new product plan. the idea behind this is to let you know what we are working on and to seek your input on the products or priorities. Some of these will happen faster than others, some won’t happen at all – that’s innovation.
It’s an exciting time to be in manufacturing as we move towards efficient mass customisation.
