- Bare Steel.
- Electro Galvanised.

Alloy
Alloy as a material type is growing in popularity, particularly in the boat trailer market. All alloy guards are 3mm thick with the propellor and checkerplate / treadplate options up to 5.4mm taking into account the the patterns.
Alloy Smooth
Alloy smooth mudguards offer a very stylish finish with the durability of 3mm alloy.
Non-slip grip
A non-slip grip can be added to the top of the guards which is also a great branding tool – check out the Alloy Trailers NZ for their full range.
Alloy propellor and alloy treadplate / checkerplate
Alloy propellor (pictured) and alloy treadplate / checkerplate both offer grip on the guards removing the need for additional post-build grips. The call between propellor and treadplate / checkerplate then comes down to design preference and style.
Bare Steel
As the name suggests, the steel is bare and without any treatment is prone to rust. The standard material thickness we use is 1.6mm and it is cold rolled. For heavy-duty use we offer a 2mm options. Hot rolled steel is too hard.
Electro Galvanised.
Made from 1.6mm Electro-Galvanised Phosphate & Dry Chromate-free Sheet. Please note the marks are superficial this is not the finished product. Generally used when guards are to be welded or painted on one or both sides.
Galvanised Steel
Galvanised steel is a highly popular option as the material is already galvanised and usually only requires bolting onto the chassis or fixing plates. The standard material thickness we use is 1.6mm and it is cold rolled. Trailers destined for more heavy duty usage should consider using material thickness of 2mm.
Stainless Steel
Stainless Steel is used for a top class finish and is priced accordingly. Please be aware in high-use and/or harsh environments it may scratch. We use 304 stainless steel bright annealed (BA) finish that is cold rolled to retain a highly reflective finish. Stainless steel mudguards are manufactured and dispatched with a PVC film on one side.
