This is the most common question we get asked – how do I select a guard!
There are two reasons why you’ll be selecting mud guards:
1️⃣ Replacing existing guards
You have old or damaged guards and want to fit new ones in their place.
2️⃣ Fitting new guards to a truck or trailer
You’re building or upgrading a truck or trailer and need guards.
How to Select Your Mud Guards — Step by Step
Step 1️⃣ — If Replacing, Check for Part Code
If you are replacing existing RHINO plastic or stainless steel mud guards, look for the part code on the guard.
Using this part code makes it easy to order the correct replacement.
👉 An example of a typical plastic part code is shown below:

Step 2️⃣ — Measure Span and Width
For the best fit, we recommend measuring the span and width of the wheels.
When measuring, add clearance of 50mm to 100mm from the wheel:
- Use less clearance for a close fit
- Use more clearance if you need extra space
👉 Refer to the image below for how to measure span and width:

Step 3️⃣ — Identify the Tyre Size
You can also use your tyre size to match with the correct RHINO mud guards.
If you need help reading tyre sizes, see our guide: How to Read Tyre Sizes.
Here’s an example of how a typical tyre size looks:
