We offer the full range of materials for light trailers. This includes alloy smooth, alloy propellor / checkerplate, alloy treadplate / 5 bar, bare steel, galvanised steel, and stainless steel. We also offer different material thicknesses in each material.
Bare steel guards are commonly used where the rest of the build components are bare steel and/or where welding of the guards is required. The bare steel is galvanised when the project is completed. We don’t have a view on which is better as we know different designers and trailer manufacturers have preferences. We do offer products in both bare steel and galvanised steel so you have the option to choose what is best for your project.
Attached below is an image of a bare steel guard (LEFT) and the same type of guard that has been hot galvanised dipped. Any small dents or imperfections in bare steel are not visible once galvanised. The actual finish will depend on the galvaniser and finish used.
